Pella-dise

For a small town, Pella has SO much to offer. Small businesses, food, views, history. Definitely worth the day trip. I went down to admire the tulips, reminisce my college days, and spend some time outdoors. Many of my favorite locations were closed or only available for curbside pick-up, but Pella never disappoints. Beautiful as always. There were some people practicing social distancing, and others not. So just be careful if you do choose to go admire the tulips this year!

All-time Favorites:

1. Sunken Gardens - a little less crowded view of tulips and windmills

2. Peanut Pub - they have mules and so many local beers on tap. Plus, right now they are canning everything you order for curbside pickup. I have so many mules in my fridge right now :)

3. Smokey Row

4. Jaarsma's Bakery (the line was seriously around the corner so we settled for Vander Ploeg's. Still delicious.)

5. Inveldt's meat market/Opa's deli (GET THE DOUBLE DUTCH sandwich)

6. If you are in town at breakfast time, go to the Windmill Cafe. My all-time favorite.

7. Wijn House - local wines galore

8. Brewhouse Coffee Shop

9. Thistles Flower Market (so gorgeous)

10. Head out of town towards Oskaloosa and visit Tassel Ridge Winery and Frisian Farms (the best gouda cheese ever) once this quarantine is over.

11. Cordova Tower and the Cliffs (closed currently)

12. Visit the Central College Campus

Some throw backs from my time in college :) Drew and I loved driving around the country side and spending time at the lake!

XOXO,

Em
